We are now taking bookings for children’s parties and occasional one off events. At the moment until things get back to normal, we are not considering any new regular users. We want to give all our existing users the chance to return first.

At Newhaven we seek to serve the community by offering hire of our hall space at very reasonable rates. We have one large hall, which is suitable for parties or large meetings, a café area with tables and chairs, and two meeting rooms which can accomodate around 30 people each.

We currently have a number of regular users of our halls, but if you wish to enquire about hire of hall space, please contact the Caretaker using the contact details above and we will be happy to provide more information and assistance.

As from January 2023 our hall hire rates are as follows:-

The hire of the main hall, café or one of the two meeting rooms is charged at £30 for the first hour and £20 per hour or part hour thereafter.

We have a special rate for children’s birthday parties. The package includes use of the main hall and café area for a four hour time slot for a total charge of £80. Please note that we can currently only offer party hire on Saturday mornings/afternoons. Kitchen use is limited to the preparation of cold food, but there is an electric urn available for the preparation of hot drinks.

Please note that there is a no alcohol policy in place in relation to the use of our building.

As the main hall is situated below residential flats, we cannot offer it for events which may result in noise nuisance to our neighbours.  We also do not allow lets beyond 10.30pm at night to prevent the neighbours being disturbed.

Our location on Craighall Road in Newhaven, close to Ferry Road, Leith Walk, and the bus stop hub at Ocean Terminal, makes our facilities easy to access from Edinburgh, Leith and the city bypass.
