Growth Groups

Growth Groups are small Bible study groups. They meet in Church or in members’ homes.

English: A sprout in a lightbulb.

Spiritual growth is not so much about “doing” as it is about “becoming” – becoming more like Christ. It’s a life-long adventure that takes patience, commitment, and intentional focus. Ultimately, the Christian life is about building an intimate relationship with Jesus, as the Holy Spirit changes us from the inside out.

The groups are welcoming and members have found studying in groups to be “stimulating, helpful, stretching, and comforting.” We believe that these small groups help us form relationships that can make a big difference to our spiritual growth. You will have confidence in your group’s confidentiality, and the ability to come as you are, whether you have a deep faith or whether you are just starting out on your journey with Christ. We invite you to explore the various opportunities we offer to help you take your next step in spiritual growth.

At the moment there is one Growth Group running. It meets once a fortnight on a Tuesday evening . There’s also a weekly Bible Study and Prayer Group which meets in the Church’s café area on Wednesday evenings between 7.30 and 9 pm.

Growth Groups study a wide range of different materials. The Bible Study and Prayer Group work through different books of the Bible, usually looking at one chapter each week.

Anyone interested in joining, or forming, a Growth Group can speak to Lynn MacNeill, Jeanette Meek, or our Minister, Peter. They will be happy to look at the options available and provide as much assistance and support as are needed.

The Bible Study and Prayer Group is open to all to use either as a regular weekly resource or on a drop-in basis. No prior notice is required to attend and a warm welcome is guaranteed.
