Growth Groups

Growth Groups are small Bible study groups. They meet in Church or in members’ homes.

English: A sprout in a lightbulb.

Spiritual growth is not so much about “doing” as it is about “becoming” – becoming more like Christ. It’s a life-long adventure that takes patience, commitment, and intentional focus. Ultimately, the Christian life is about building an intimate relationship with Jesus, as the Holy Spirit changes us from the inside out.

The groups are welcoming and members have found studying in groups to be “stimulating, helpful, stretching, and comforting.” We believe that these small groups (no more than 6-8) form the relationships that make the difference in our spiritual growth. You will have confidence in your group’s confidentiality, and the ability to come as you are, whether you have a deep faith or whether you are just starting out on your journey with Christ. We invite you to explore the various opportunities we offer to help you take your next steps of spiritual growth.

There are a number of Growth Groups held fortnightly throughout the week, with a choice of daytime or evening groups. There’s also a weekly Bible Study and Prayer group, to which all are welcome, and which meets in the church building on Wednesday evenings between 7.30 and 9 pm.

The Growth Groups study a wide range of materials, varying from group to group. On an occasional basis, all the groups co-ordinate to study the same materials. There’s space in each of the groups to accommodate anyone who is interested. To find out more please speak to Peter, the minister, or to Lynn MacNeill or Jeanette Meek, who will be happy to help.
