In our Communion service on Sunday 29th June, Peter continued to consider a number of critical events in the lives of Jesus’ friends Lazarus, Mary and Martha – in particular Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead, in the context of the theme of the theme of ‘Trust’.

26/01/2014 sermon. What lies at the heart of Christianity. Part 2 Trying to understand suffering (Psalm 22:1-18 and Matthew 5:13-16)

In our Communion service on Sunday 26th January 2014, our Minister Peter considered suffering in the context of Psalm 22:1-18 (Plea for Deliverance from Suffering and Hostility) and Matthew 5:13-16 (Salt and Light).  Peter also highlighted the importance of remembering that as Christians with a living faith, God works both in us and alongside us.

27/10/13 sermon – The Parable of the Good Samaritan and Judging others

In our Communion service today (Sunday 27th October 2013), our Minister Peter considered Luke 10:25-37 (The Parable of the Good Samaritan) and Matthew 7:1-5 (Judging others).  Peter also considered the awful story of the hatred experienced by Alexandre Ivo, a 14 year old boy in Brazil.

29/09/13 sermon – What we notice compared to God’s vision (Jeremiah 1:4-12)

On Sunday 29th September 2013, we were pleased to welcome back Rev Dr George Whyte who led our communion service in Peter’s absence.  Rev Dr George Whyte considered Jeremiah 1:4-12 (The call of Jeremiah) and what Jeremiah noticed compared to God’s vision (The Almond Tree and Watching – ‘shaked and shoked’).
