Sermon on Peace- 11th February 2018

Reading:

Matthew 5:9

In his sermon this morning Rev. Peter Bluett looked at Jesus’s famous teaching from the Beatitudes “Blessed are the peacemakers.” He explored what peace, as taught by Jesus, means and how it differs from the Pax Romana offered as a solution to conflict by the Roman Empire. He then went on to explore what the Kingdom of God would look like if we were to live lives of peace and love.

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And all of us, with unveiled faces, seeing the glory of the Lord as though reflected in a mirror, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another; for this comes from the Lord, the Spirit.”

2 Corinthians 3:17-18 (New Revised Standard Version)
