Sermon Sunday 29 March 2020

Welcome to everyone from near and far tuning in to the website to hear Peter’s message at 10.30am this Sunday morning. It was great to know that so many were able to listen last week and continue to join together, wherever we are.

Faithful One, so unchanging.
Ageless One, You’re my rock of peace.
Lord of all, I depend on You.
I call out to You, again and again,
I call out to You, again and again.

You are my Rock in times of trouble,
You lift me up when I fall down,
All through the storm
Your love is the anchor
My hope is in You alone.

Faithful One, words and music by Brian Doerksen.

Sermon Sunday 22 March 2020

As we are unable to meet in person in Newhaven Church, the sermon this Sunday has been prerecorded by Peter at home. Sermons will be posted here each Sunday for 10.30am so that those who are able to listen online, and those who normally listen online from far and wide, can gather to worship together, even if we can’t be with each other in person.

The Lord’s my shepherd, I’ll not want;
He makes me lie in pastures green.
He leads me by the still, still waters,
His goodness restores my soul.

And I will trust in You alone,
And I will trust in You alone,
For Your endless mercy follows me,
Your goodness will lead me home.

He guides my ways in righteousness,
And He anoints my head with oil,
And my cup, it overflows with joy,
I feast on His pure delights.

And though I walk the darkest path,
I will not fear the evil one,
For You are with me, and Your rod and staff
Are the comfort I need to know.

Practising Presence- Sermon 27th Oct 2019

Reading:

Psalm 139:1-12

Mark 10:46-52

In this sermon Rev Bluett asks how we might experience the presence of God in times of difficulty and illness, exploring what the presence of God involves as we pass through the darkest valley. He offers insight into how we might actively seek the presence of God at all times through contemplative practices.
