You are cordially invited to the book launch of:
If you see a rainbow: miracles, signs, science and nature by the Very Reverend John Miller
The launch will be held in Newhaven Church on Monday 14th January 2013 at 7.30pm.
The book will be introduced by the Very Rev’d John Miller, and will be followed by a discussion with the author, chaired by the Rev’d Peter Bluett.
This book is the last of three on the miracles of Jesus and concentrates on the nature miracles. It’s purpose is to place them in the context of our demand for signs and our scepticism about science and our appetite for ways of fixing the environment. Theologians used to have a respect for science and could understand God’s ways through it. However, we now tend to take a very fundamentalist view of the Bible. The author shows that God gave his people a particularly good understanding of nature which we are in danger of losing in the secular 21st century.
Refreshments will be served, and books will be on sale at the event
