Song of the Week 3 – 10,000 Reasons

Last Sunday night on the 10th of February, Matt Redman – a songwriter whose songs we sing quite a bit of at Newhaven – won two Grammy awards! He won them both for his song ‘10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord)’ which he co-wrote with Jonas Myrin in 2011. It’s a beautiful song. The song won in the categories of Best Contemporary Christian Music Song and Best Gospel/Christian Contemporary Music Performance. (The award for Best Contemporary Christian Music Song was also a tie with ‘Your Presence is Heaven’ written by Israel Houghton and Micah Massey.)

You can hear the song below and sing along as the lyrics are on the screen. The second video is of Matt Redman explaining how the song came about. Think we’ll try this on Sunday…
