This week we’re going back in time to a song called ‘When He Cometh’. It was written by William Cushing in 1856 with music by George Root. I grew up listening to this song, I think a mixture of in church and on a tape that was played in the house, and so it’s one of those songs that I won’t forget. Maybe all songs are like that, even if we’ve only sung them a few times? I know that if we play an oldie in church a pretty good number of folk will hum or sing along even though it hasn’t been played or sung in a very long time. This is one of songs.
Enjoy.

Love this hymn, brings back fond memories.
Takes me back to my Sunday school days – strongly embedded in my memory. Words based on Malachi 3 v 17.
