Newhaven Church – looking back, looking forward, Sunday 5 February 2017
Parade: 10.15 am, from outside Victoria Primary to Newhaven Church
Service of celebration: 10.30am, followed by brunch.
It is ten years since the congregation of Newhaven Church moved back into its redeveloped premises in Craighall Road, and we are holding a service on Sunday 5th February 2017 at 10.30am to give thanks for God’s faithfulness during our time out of our buildings, and of course His faithfulness ever since.
Our premises have helped us to achieve our vision of serving Christ, each other and the community. Our space is light and welcoming and doesn’t seem to conform to what people think of as a church. In particular our café has for ten years been at the heart of our service to the community.
A little over ten years ago, on Christmas Eve 2006, the congregation walked from Victoria Primary School in Newhaven, where we had been meeting for two years, along the Main Street for the first service held in our newly developed Church buildings. On Sunday 5 February, we are planning to walk that route again, as a congregation, starting at 10.15am. All are welcome to join us at 10.15 at Victoria Primary School for that walk, or to come to the Church for the service which will start at 10.30am.
