Hi Everyone, welcome to Lighthouse for All for Holy Week. We will be posting one video each day as we tell the story of the last week of Jesus’s life on Earth. Sunday posts will appear at 2pm, but Monday to Saturday’s posts will appear at 10am. We started with a task last Friday of making ourselves a Holy Week Box.
Today we are learning about Jesus and his followers entering Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover. This can be found in all four Gospel accounts– Matthew 21:1–11, Mark 11:1–11, Luke 19:28–44, and John 12:12–19 All of these texts can be read in many different translations on biblegateway.com. The International Children’s Bible is a simple adaptation of the NIV and what we have in Lighthouse.
Additional Ideas:
Sometimes on Palm Sunday we hand out Palm Crosses to remember the people shouting Hosanna. In my church growing up we were given palm leaves and made them ourselves! I always needed a little help. In addition to your treasure box item, you may wish to make one yourself and place it somewhere to remind you of the people shouting Hosanna! For those who like to sing, here is today’s story in song by Bob Hartman & Sam Hargreaves.
Throughout this week Fishy Music will be posting special song, activity and reflection for Holy Week, including 2 new ones. Prayer Spaces in Schools and 24-7 Prayer will be sharing at home prayer space activities.
