In light of the most recent guidance on COVID-19 from the UK and Scottish Governments that all non-essential social contact should be avoided, it is with much regret that we announce that all scheduled activities at Newhaven Church will stop for the foreseeable future.
This means that Newhaven Connections Café will not open and there will be no Church services (either on a Sunday morning or Messy Church). No other scheduled activities, meetings or gatherings will take place at the Church, including Toddlers, the Haven, the Wednesday evening Bible Study group, BB groups and all other hall hires.
We recognise the significant impact the loss of these activities will mean for many in our community and so we are taking the following steps.
- We will replace our Sunday morning service with a podcast from our Minister, Rev Peter Bluett, which we will aim to post on our website by 10.30 a.m. each Sunday morning. We encourage everyone who would normally come to Church to be joined in the Spirit at that time by either listening to the podcast or, if not able to do so, having their own time of worship and prayer.
- We will be putting other communications in place for our young people and also for those who have no internet access.
- We want to be able to serve those in our community who are in need of care at this time and so if we can help you, or if you know someone in need, please get in touch with Peter (firstname.lastname@example.org) or with John our Session Clerk (0131 552 4339, email@example.com). Likewise, if you are able to help with serving those in our community at this time please get in touch with Peter or John.
God is our refuge and our strength, an ever present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.
“Be still, and know that I am God.”
